Hey pretty awesome people! How’s your Saturday going? You’re probably wondering what happened to me that I’ve got “misogyny” and “marketing” in the same sentence; I’ll tell you…
I don’t know about other parts of the world, but girls this side of the globe be tripping!
Last week I was at a friend’s, my friend’s friends joined us where we were standing and talking – the conversation became livelier, we were talking about almost everything, Nigeria, love, life, experiences et cetera.
Then this lady comes in; she obviously knew some of the guys, she greets all of them – the ones she knew and the ones she did not know, but she skips me! In my mind I was like “interesting”. So she’s marketing her product to the guys – it was a product I had heard about and was interested in ‘cause of the kind of work I do. But hey, she wasn’t gonna market to me, for some reason I was an enemy she formed the instant she walked thru the door – it’s common with girls and I don’t know why! Girl-on-girl hate. Seriously, I don’t have a problem with whom you decide to hate on or not greet, but don’t bring all that bad business near your BUSINESS!
I could have become her client that day, I could have referred her to people I know that might be interested. Maybe even give her a few tips that’ll save her marketing under the sun. But no, she chose probably the most important person to her business in the room to hate on!
My friend came and tried to sell the product to me himself, I told him no thank you. I’d rather walk to their office and get the product first hand from the company.
Morale of my tiny little rant: Business is business… leave whatever personal problems you have towards a particular gender, sect or kind of people and SELL YOUR MARKET t’ori Olohun!
And if you know you cannot put whatever reservations you have aside, let me help you market your product. In the words of a wise famous man, “I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody.”
