While some people are serial, heavy and unrepentant procrastinators, others just have the light sprinkle of the “disease” called procrastination. Whichever the case may be, every one of us leave things until later sometimes to scroll down our on phone screens – can I get a witness?!
Your job as a seller is not to find if your client/target audience is a heavy or light procrastinator – it is to take advantage of that act to sell whatever you want to sell in a few seconds (before they scroll on to other posts!)
So what’s your elevator pitch? What’s your 30 seconds pitch like? You do know you mostly have 30 seconds to sell whatever before you bore your potential client and he or she scrolls on.
Wait, what am I talking about! If you are doing email marketing – you have 4 seconds, not even 30! I used to work for a digital marketing firm and I’d make sure we had the right titles for our emails – titles that would make you want to open the email even if you don’t have plenty time to go through an entire mail.
So 4 seconds to sell your catchy title, 30 seconds for your elevator pitch and you don’t want it to be lousy.
Whether you are doing the email marketing thing or it is just a caption on your social media platforms, you might want to try the inverted pyramid style of writing to help put your USP forward first and sell whatever your product or service is (before they scroll on!).
Take advantage of their procrastination – it’s probably the best kind of taking advantage of!
