A huge mistake you can make is think that because you do not sell a particular product/service in an offline/online market, you are not a seller. Wrong! Everyone sells something; and the number one thing you sell is YOURSELF!
Every time you interact with anyone, even a child, you are selling yourself – you are selling the kind of person you are, your character, your strength, your weakness and in totality, your brand. Someone once said even a snake has a brand – a snake has sold itself as being dangerous and deceitful. This is why treacherous people are referred to as snakes.
If you are one of those that have trouble selling even when your product/service is high quality, you might want to check yourself – you could be doing a lot of things wrong, maybe even just one thing! Might be something to do with your character, or maybe inconsistency, inability to meet up with deadlines, etc.
This does not apply to individuals alone, organizations are involved in the art of selling – for instance, why do you bank with your bank? If you were given multiple chances, would you choose them over and over again? Why or why not? Whatever your answer is, it is because of how the company has sold itself to their customers.
How do you want to sell yourself, your brand, the essence of what you do? Especially in this age where everyone is wanting to be an #Influencer.
According to @drshogo, “before you get better at persuading or influencing other people, you need to get better at selling yourself. Every day of your life you are selling yourself and nothing happened until you’re successful at doing that!”
Most people sell themselves short because they are not working on developing the right skills, they fail to realize the amount of potential they possess and in turn fail to realize how much amazing things they can accomplish — which is just sad every angle you look at it from.
You are your strongest advocate, your own salesperson and marketer. Your pastor will even tell you are your own first prophet – you must first see for yourself what you want others to see about you.
